This fan fic takes place after the end of book 6. I haven’t yet read 7 and am going into withdrawal from lack of planet ladder. I don’t own any of the characters of planet ladder, nor the book itself (::although, if I were to get Seeu alone…::) they belong to Yuri Narushima. The words written in italics are the person’s train of thought. The words with little :: things around them are immediate thoughts. ::So you kno…::
“Seeu!” ::Maybe I’m gaining weight ‘cause all I think about is food. ::Kaguya thought drearily. She had to find Seeu. She still had no idea how she was supposed to pick which world would survive, and while she sat around doing nothing, people were loosing their homes, their families, and their lives. She had to do something. “SEEU!” She called at the entrance of Seeu’s underground lab. ::I have to speak to Seeu!:: Quickly she made her way down the steps.
“Seeu!” ::That voice!:: Slowly he forced his head up an inch from the floor. ::Ka- Kagami..?:: His tear blurred vision focused on the figure in front of him. Could it be..
“Oh my God, Seeu what happened?!” cried Kagami. ::No.. Not Kaga-mi.:: Seeu’s mind was racing, his thoughts as confused and loud as clashing titans. The person was getting closer, too close. ::No!:: Suddenly the Luna to Mercury lashed out and a girl’s scream pierced Seeu’s clashing thoughts. ::KAGUYA!::
Immediately everything became crystal clear for Seeu. The Luna to Mercury was in his hand and Kaguya was falling away from him, crimson blood flowing from a gash somewhere on her body. He froze. This was too much for Seeu. First he killed Kagami, and now Kaguya too. He had no right to live.
“Seeu?” Kaguya’s soft voice was barley above a whisper as she stared up at him with fear filled eyes. Slowly Seeu’s eyes drifted into focus on the girl sprawled out at his feet. There was blood everywhere. There was blood on the Luna to Mercury.
As the shock of his attack subsided the pain began to edge its way into Kaguya’s mind. She clutched at the cut in her arm, trying to stop the bleeding. It wasn’t very deep, maybe half an inch, and only about three inches long, but the blood was soaking into the fabric of her shirt and spreading quickly. Still, Kaguya had never been injured like this before, and the searing pain caused pinpricks of black and yellow to float at the edges of her vision, heralding the unconsciousness that was soon to come. Slowly, and clumsily Kaguya stood, every movement sending wave after wave of throbbing pain through her body. Blood seeped between her fingers and dripped from her fingertips, forming a small puddle of blood on the ground. ::I’m okay, Seeu:: She couldn’t find the strength to say it out loud. The pinpricks were taking hold of her vision and clouding her mind. She felt herself falling again, only this time she was greeted by stiff, but warm arms, and just before oblivion claimed her she breathed out the name, “Seeu.”
She wasn’t dead. The cut was on her arm. ::She will be fine:: Seeu stood next to the table in his lab where her body lay. He had torn off her sleeve, stitched the cut closed and wrapped it with clean gauze. He hadn’t even thought twice about it before touching her. She looked so simple, asleep on the table as if nothing at all had happened (despite the bloody shirt and the gauze), so why had the thought of loosing her upset him so much? He’d killed so many people before, why was this girl different. ::She looks so much like him.:: The image of Kagami sleeping on the couch swam into his vision. He had asked Seeu to take care of her, but when he saw her body falling to the ground the thought, the emotion, that had found it’s way into his mind was more than just that of responsibility. He had genuinely feared for her life. Kaguya was waking Seeu’s heart, just as Kagami had said it must. She looked so small and fragile. So beautiful.
Kaguya’s eyes fluttered as she drifted into consciousness. Immediately her hand flew up to the abrasion in her arm to tourniquet the bleeding, but instead of wet sticky blood she felt soft gauze. Next thing to register in her mind was the fact that the pain was gone. Slowly she opened her eyes, momentarily blinded by the light. As her eyes adjusted the hazy form of Seeu came into view. Her heart skipped a beat. Had he patched her up? He must have, she didn’t see any of the sages around. Had he actually touched her? She tried sitting up, but he must have given her something to nullify the pain that made her dizzy, because she suddenly felt as if the room had done a summersault. When he saw her effort Seeu’s arm twitched, but the rest of him remained still. She began to sit up again, this time more slowly, and to her surprise Seeu’s hand was against her back, helping her up. Tears of joy welled in her eyes as she thought of how hard doing these things must be for him, but he was doing them, for her. She knew he hadn’t meant to hurt her.
Was she crying? Did the cut still hurt, even after the painkillers he’d given her, or had he done something wrong? Seeu stood staring at her for a moment not knowing at all what he should do. Should he apologize for hurting her? ::Yes, apologize.:: Seeu became uneasy just standing and watching Kaguya watch him, with tears streaming down her cheeks. He opened his mouth to apologize, but just then she reached up to wipe the tears from her eyes then looked back at him and smiled. She wasn’t angry?!
“It’s okay, Seeu. I’m fine.” She slid her feet over the side of the table. “Th-thank you for fixing my arm.” She slid off the table only to find that her legs were not ready. For the third time she fell, this time straight into Seeu. Neither of them had expected it and Kaguya almost flew backward, but this time Seeu reacted, catching her before she could fall to the ground. Seeu held her for a few minutes while she got her footing, but once she did he only loosened his hold on her. ::…I don’t want to let go.:: She was so warm. The way she was looking at him, and the way she smelled…Kaguya’s face slowly began to move towards his, and without him knowing it his was moving towards hers. Then their lips touched. No one had touched him in 500 years except Kaguya, and now she was kissing him, and he was kissing her. Nothing existed but their lips, then Kaguya pulled back for a moment and lifted the bloody shirt over her head, dropping it to the floor. Seeu hesitated for a moment. This was going so fast, but the second he looked into her eyes he knew it was right. Her hands were gentle as she helped him undress and as they lay down on the table he knew nothing had ever been more right.
Kaguya’s pale skin was flushed red from their passionate lovemaking and she couldn’t help sighing happily at the feeling of his fingertips gently running up and down her back. Seeu’s cloak was wrapped around their waists and Kaguya’s head was resting on Seeu’s chest. She picked up a strand of his crimson hair and began smoothing it between her fingers and for that time there were no Nine Worlds needing salvation, or emperor killing thousands. Just her and Seeu.
“Kagami is alive.” Seeu whispered suddenly. His voice sounded as if he didn’t want to think about Kagami, or anything else, but Kaguya knew there were things to be done still, and the time for her and Seeu would come again soon.
