Opinions of the Cast:
Cloud:
At first, I didn't care for Cloud. All that rapid mood/personality
shifting really annoyed me. Playing it over, I've decided that he's
okay, but he's still far from my fave FF guy. Put him with Yuffie, and
I adore him. I always thought he was hot anyway. ^^;;;
Yuffie:
I liked Yuffie from the beginning. You can really trace it through
the fact that she reminds me of Misao from Rurouni Kenshin, who in turn
reminds me of Fuuko from Flame of Recca (my alltime fave anime female).
What is it with me and wild, crazy ninja girls?!
Aeris:
My absolute favorite character in the game. Aeris was my focal point, the
one I viewed the world of the game through. I adored her from the moment
I saw her in the opening sequence. I loved her character design and her
personality. I was utterly devestated when she died.
Tifa:
When I first played the game, I just saw her as cool fighter chick. Not
much else. After I got on the net and saw all the anti-Aeris/pro-Tifa
rants, I got upset. For every bad thing they had to say about Aeris, I
could remember a time when Tifa did basically the same thing. But after
getting more acquainted with how internet fandoms work, I realized that
it's not fair to dislike a character because of fan behavior.
Barret:
Eh, he's just kinda there. ._.
Red XIII:
Cute! I'd like to have him as a pet.
Vincent:
At the time I first played the game, I was still in my lame "Vampires rule!"
phase and was obsessed with him. After growing out of that, I view him
as just another cool character. I like his design really well though.
Cid:
I LOVE Cid! He cracks me up. For some strange reason, he reminds me of
Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi (maybe it's the swearing and hot temper). He's
probably my favorite FF7 male.
Other FF7 Pairings I like:
TsengxAeris:
Isn't this adorable? Just think about it for a few minutes. Go on. ..... Now, don't you agree it's adorable? XD
RufusxTifa:
I wanted them to have some big confrontation on Rufus's ship but... it ended up being with Scarlet. ;.; I guess I was hoping they'd have a fight and suddenly Rufus would be like "Wow, you're beautiful AND you just kicked my ass! I want you in the Turks!" and then spend the rest of the game trying to convince her to join him. Okay, so that would be pretty stupid but I still wanted them to get together. XD
CidxShera:
I'm so obvious. I know. It's kind of a boring pairing as it's close to canon. But it's sooooo sweet, in its own twisted way.
Opinion on FF7 the game:
Final Fantasy 7 is not my favorite Final Fantasy game. My favorites are 6, and 4, since I love the adventurous, fun, mideavil vibe. And maybe it's just
cause I adore characters like Locke and Edge (not to mention Terra and Rosa). I loved FF7's eerie religious vibe and it's somewhat creepy plot,
but I could've used some more light adventure and more fun-loving characters.
Also, I felt that the game really went down after Aeris died. But maybe that's
just because she was my favorite. Oh well.
Overall, I like FF7, even if I don't think it's the greatest game ever made.
Good soundtrack, great plot, and a few genuinely memorable characters make it
worth the hours of play. Even though I don't particularly like futuristic
settings, I got absorbed into this one. ^_^
Opinion on Advent Children:
I didn't hate it. I didn't adore it to no end. I liked it. It was like pure unfiltered fanservice injected straight into your blood stream. But that's what it sought out to do, so it's okay. It wasn't very deep or moving, but it was definitely a treat for long-time Final Fantasy fans.
